After the excellent SOL event earlier in the year several members parttook in a club trip over to Luce bay for their annual big air event.
It was a great fun weekend, with lots of banter, beer and general merriment, and of course wind too! The competition was friendly but fierce, and there were many entries of a similarly high level. The north east crew swept the board with the results though, with Andrew McMillan taking the coveted overall title!

Our summer party finally came around, so we all headed up to the amazing shores of budle bay for a BBQ & drinks, a camp-out overlooking the bay, and of course a session on the water.
It was great to bring a crew together close to the end of the season, here are some pics from the evening. BIG thanks to Phil for his awesome gazebo which kept us dry and comfortable, James for his excellent bbq chef skills and for everyone who turned up to make it a great weekend.
We were very excited to attend the inaugural Battle of The Clans event in Luce Bay, and entered a strong team to contend with those coming from Scotland and the South of England.
It was great to meet up with friends from around the country again, but the wind proved to be disappointing this time. A downwind race was held, which proved to be quite a struggle for those without specialist lightwind gear, and the freestyle competition didn't get started. Some fun was had on the beach on the mega SUP, but most of the action happened in the bar later, especially with the chilli challenge, in which Adrian did us very proud, and very wisely brought a gallon of milk with him to drink afterwards! A great fun weekend with the club, hopefully they'll repeat it next year! |
